About D'Ieteren Mobility Company
D'Ieteren Mobility Company is a network of dealers mainly located on the Antwerp - Mechelen - Brussels axis. It gathers top brands such as Audi, Cupra, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti & Rimac. We represent more than 35 dealerships, +/-1.500 employees and are part of D'Ieteren Automotive. In 2023, we invoiced more than 33.000 cars, 7.800 used cars and together with all aftersales activities realized a turnover of more than 1.850m EUR.
To achieve its objectives, D'Ieteren Mobility Company connects a community of complementary dealerships in Belgium. The company promotes, supports and connects dealers and initiatives. It also encourages the sharing of knowledge and innovation within the network.
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team and oversee our accounting department.
About the Head of Accounting & Reporting
As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the accounting functions, GL accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany reconciliations and financial reporting. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
You will be responsible for all Retail Legal Entities (#33) and will be supported by a team of 39 persons. You will establish and maintain business relationships with internal and external partners (i.e. Audit Teams). You will be the point of contact for internal and external auditors on all GL accounting matters.
You're constantly looking for ways to improve the way of working by implementing standardised processes and automatization.
You will participate in our ‘Reshaping Project’ that aims to reduce the number of legal entities thanks to mergers and carve-outs.
About the role of Head of Accounting & Reporting
The head of Accounting & Reporting reports to the CFO.
His/her main tasks are:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the Group and Retail accounting Rules. Ensure uniformity in the way accounting rules are implemented in the different legal entities.
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and customer invoices. Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and collection of receivables from customers.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Key contact person with external auditors.
- Support the implementation of new IT-tools.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.
- Setting up an efficient, centralised accounting organisation using optimised and aligned processes.
About the skills & experience:
- Master degree in Accounting, Finance with a minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting.
- Thorough understanding of BEGAAP, IFRS and financial accounting principles.
- Experience in accounting software and ERP systems (Venice, BI Tools).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and integrity, without losing the global picture and strategy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task;
- Pragmatic, team player, results-oriented and problem-solver;
- Attentive to opportunities for improvement, automation and process efficiency;
- Very good knowledge of Dutch and professional knowledge of French;
- Experience with Big4 is an important asset.
